Mabuhay Massive worked with The Park's Finest on special project. The Park's Finest was selected as a partner for the Vans Foot the Bill program. Vans is lending a helping hand during these challenging times. Mabuhay Massive collaborated with The Park's Finest on a Vans Customs shoe, and for every shoe purchased with our design, the net proceeds will go to support The Park's Finest's Feed the Frontliners Project, where they prepare and deliver hot, catered meals to healthcare workers in LA County during the pandemic.
This intergenerational, collaborative design drew inspiration from an Ilokano textile motif, the diamonds depicting the watchful and protective eyes of the ancestors behind messages of "ingat" (take care) and "serve the people" with a range of characters that make up and build community. The anting-anting in the Philippines are talismans that provide protection for the wearer. The shoes carry images, phrases, and symbols that convey care and protection coupled with LA visuals that exemplify the spirit of The Park's Finest.
